It is important to use a BCeID when making your application so you can:

  • Save your work and return to it later
  • Simplify the process when you have a co-applicant
  • Make updates and corrections to your application
  • Check your application’s status after submission
Important Notices About this Application:

  • If you only want to use the water for 24 months or less, please consider if the Short-term use of water approval application would meet your needs.
  • For details on what a domestic purpose means, please review the Water Sustainability Act Section.
  • If you wish to use groundwater to support an oil and gas activity under the Oil and Gas Activities Act or the Petroleum and Natural Gas Act, contact the BC Energy Regulator .
  • It is recommended to complete this application type with a BCeID. This will allow you to save your work and return to it, make updates and corrections, and check your application status.
  • If there are co-applicants, a BCeID is required to complete and submit this application. A co-applicant is an individual or company/organization who wishes to be listed as a tenure holder.
  • Please note, if you do not have a BCeID, you will be unable to save your application, and information will be lost if a partial application times out or the browser is closed. Please ensure you have adequate time to complete the application before you begin.
